Robert Moses, Commissioner of Parks for New York City, delivered the first in a series of two lecture yesterday afternoon in the New Lecture Hall under the auspices of the Godkin Lecture Foundation.
Moses chose as the subject of his first lecture "Notes on Political Theory and Practice in Politics." Open to the public, the speech attracted a large crowd. Like the first his other lecture, to be delivered on Friday, May 12, will deal with contemporary problems of government.
The lecture has had a colorful public service career, from his appointment as municipal investigator in 1913 until his selection by Mayor LaGuardia three years ago as Commissioner of Parks. He has held a position of president of the Long Island Park Commission.
