Studies of various kinds of scholastic aptitude tests and examinations given at schools and colleges throughout the country will be conducted by Phillip J. Rulon, assistant professor in Education who has a year's leave of absence to prepare his Study of Educational Evaluation. It was announced yesterday.

Eugene has received a temporary appointment to fill Rulon's position during his leave of absence. Rulon will spend a year visiting educational institutions and preparing a survey with recommendations telling what new kinds of tests are needed.

Financed by a $19,000 gift from the Rockefeller Foundation the project is under the direction of the American Council on Education, a national organization of which Harvard is a member.
