OSAKA, Japan, Thursday -- More than 50,000 men were massed in the suburb of Hirakata today in an effort to restore order following a munitions dump explosion in which scores of persons were reported killed or injured.
It was feared the loss of life would be great. The Domel News Agency said that more than 300 wounded persons had been admitted to hospitals up to 2 A. M.
More than 500 houses were burned or demolished to prevent spread of free which followed the explosions.
