To the Editor of the Crimson:

On Monday, March 6 your article on the anti-syphilis campaign of the National Student Group stated that "there is too much venereal disease at Harvard."

I did not make this statement, and it is not true, as we at the medical school know only too well.

The committee aims to educate college students to the realization that as future citizens and legislators, it is their responsibility to reduce the incidence of syphilis throughout the country. More specifically, the committee is attempting to have each student make a personal issue of this responsibility by writing to his representatives, both state and national, asking for medical legislation insuring compulsory pre-marital Wasserman Tests. This is our first goal. Ernest Sachs. 1 Med.
