Optimism over this year's prospects and pessimism over the case of selecting the eight men to make up the Varsity and 150-lb. shells were expressed last night by Coaches Tom Bolles and Bert Haines at the final Varsity Club crew meeting of the year.

First speaker Tom Bolles announced that the Varsity would row on the new streamlined rowing machine Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at scheduled hours. He stated that the opposition would be "waiting in the woodpile" for Harvard.

Bert Haines agreed with Bolles that the prospects were excellent and the material almost too plentiful. He stressed crew spirit as did Bud Talbot, who announced two post-season regattas and demanded that strict training be enforced--no smoking, no drinking, no late hours.
