Featuring a "Turkey drive" and a speech by Earl Browder, Lampy will celebrate Thanksgiving today in protest against Governor Saltonstall's refusal to fall into line with President Roosevelt on the turkey day issue.
The socially conscious Mr. Auburn Street study group joined the united front against the Saltonstall edict, with the announcement that the Communist Party Chief would be asked to speak briefly from the steps of the Lampoon building at 4 o'clock today.

"This is a matter which transcends civil liberties," Edward C. K. Read '40, Lampy president thundered last night. "Our forefathers came to America in search of religious freedom. The traditions of a great and liberal institution are being flagrantly violated by this autocratic dictation of our Thanksgiving rights."
He added that a Turkey drive is like a miniature round-up. "You clap your hands and shout like all get-out," he explained, "and drive the birds into a small 'coop'. It's really keen fun if you're up to it."
As late as midnight, no answer to the Lampoon's invitation had been received from Browder. Read explained that a telegram had been addressed to the C. P. Head care of the Kremlin, and that the delay might have been caused by the difference in time between New York and Moscow.
