TORBIE MACDONALD GETS LEG INJURY IN PUNTING PRACTICE

Harlow Sends Two Teams Through Stiff 40 Minute Drill; Pete Elser Returns to Contact Work

Yesterday afternoon the name of Captain Torbie Macdonald was added to the list of players who have been lost to Coach Dick Harlow for a few days at a time this fall when the fleet tailback was carried from the practice field with a leg injury.

The extent of Macdonald's injury, received during a 15 minute pressure punting drill, was not immediately ascertained. Medicos decided to withhold judgment on him until today. The Crimson leader was felled by a hard-charging scrub line as he was attempting to get off a punt.

Aside from that major mishap, things went along quite smoothly as Coach Harlow drove the boys through a strenuous 40 minute scrimmage session. No touchdowns were registered, so most of the afternoon's standout performers excelled on defense.

Joe Gardella had a busy time breaking up many A team plays, and Loren MacKinney continued to look good at the left flank. Peabody, Lowry, and Sargeant manned the guard slots on the A team all day, and their work was entirely satisfactory.
