ITHACA, New York, Jan. 11--Wes Fesler's Crimson basketball team went down to a 35 to 27 defeat at the hands of a powerful Cornell quintet in the Drill Hall on the cornell campus last evening before a crowd of some 2500 fans.
Only once did the Crimson aggregation take the lead, that coming shortly after the game opened. From then on it was Cornell all the way, with Harvard threatening only once in the final period.
The unsuccessful Cantab attack was led by Charlie Lutz, who was high point man for the Crimson. He tallied three field goals and two fouls. He was scrappy on the defense and chance taking on the offense.
Captain Lupien did a great job handling the other guard position, while Peabody, Legg, and White handled their positions well. All these men were in the starting lineup for the visitors.
Cornell's starting lineup was composed of Bennett and Vaughan, forwards, Ramsey, center, Leonard and Polzer guards. Captain Foerstch replaced Ramsey in the first half and the two players alternated at center.
Biggest of the Big Red threats was Sophomore Jim Bennett, ranked high in Eastern Intercollegiate Association circles. Bennett got six field goals and two fouls to be high pointer for the game.
The Crimson made its last bid for victory late in the second half when it was led by charlie Lutz on a ten point scoring spree.
