Although this fall's turnout of 100 Yardling grid aspirants fell short of the figures of the past two years by some 30 men, prospects for a winning team seem the brightest since 1930.
For the past two seasons the Crimson has bowed to the Eli Freshmen and fared poorly in their other scheduled games.
Hurricane delayed trains and curricular activities have hindered early practice this fall. To date Coach Skip Stahley and his staff have limited practice to fundamentals, but will start early this week in preparation for the season opener with Exeter a week from Saturday. Other games are Worcester Academy, Andover, Dartmouth Freshmen, and the finale with Yale.
The squad had its first work-out Thursday, but will not be at full strength until this afternoon.
