When William H. Moser, of 75 Hooker Street, Allston, removed his overalls yesterday afternoon, he closed half a century of service to the University. But this morning will find the 73-years old janitor back at his post in Harvard Hall, a stone's throw away from Mathews Hall, where he served for 45 years, until 1934.
Moser, who refused to accept a pension four years ago, likes working for Harvard, although he is not overly emotional in saying so. "Well, if I hadn't liked it, I'd of gotten out before this," he remarked.
Moser's tacit affection for the University appeared to be mutual yesterday afternoon when Aldrich Durant '06, Business Manager, warmly praised the janitor's record.
