Big Tom Healey flashed his best form of the season yesterday afternoon at Durham holding New Hampshire to four hits, as the Crimson nine chalked up their sixth victory by a 2-1 score.
Only shaky support in the ninth coupled with two bingles prevented the first Crimson shut-out in two years. On three pitched balls Healey retired the Wildcats in the second, and in the third disposed of the side with three strike-outs.
Score in Fifth
Hits by Captain Ulysses Lupien and Dick Grondahl together with Bob Gannett's base on balls and a double steal accounted for the Crimson's two tallies in the fifth frame. Otherwise the Varsity failed to fathom Lefty Roper's deceptive hook.
