THURSDAY IS DAY SET FOR ANNUAL FRESHMAN SMOKER

Orchestra, Vaudeville, Soft Drinks, Cigarettes, Ice Cream, to Be Given To All

The annual Freshman Smoker with a bevy of stage and screen stars, free tobacco, and soft drinks, will be held in Memorial Hall next Thursday evening at 10 o'clock, Langdon P. Marvin '41, chairman of the Smoker Committee announced last night.

Zorina, star of the Rodgers and Hart musical, "I Married an Angel" now being held over at the Shubert, and of the "Goldwyn Follies" currently playing at the University Theatre, leads the bill that includes such stars as Dennis King, "Chuck" Waters, Audrey Christie, and Vivienne Segal.

These musical comedy stars will be supplemented by a group of vaudeville players that include a tap dance team, comedy team, roller skating artists, and an orchestra. Several baseball stars and sports writers will be asked to appear in order to insure a full three hours of entertainment. Motion pictures of the Harvard-Yale football game may be added to the program.

Upperclassmen Admitted

Free cigarettes provided by Leavitt and Peirce, 21 cases of root beer furnished by Hires Root Beer company, and all the ice cream that you can eat will be distributed. All guests will be given souvenir pipes during the performance. All Freshmen will be admitted and upperclassmen are welcome as long as there is room. The doors will open at about 10 o'clock.

Geoffrey Clark, Frederic T. Bradlee, and Amory Parker have been appointed to the committee in order to handle the expected crowds. Other committee members are; Langdon P. Marvin, chairman, Donald A. Brew, Logan Bullitt, George C. Haydock, chairman of the program committee, William H. Hinton, Robert A. James, Joseph P. Lyford, Bernard J. McMahon, and Amory Parker.
