"The British government has given Hitler a free hand in central Europe," stated Gaetano Salvemini, professor of History, in a radio address last night sponsored by the Harvard Guardian.
Salvemini charged that the British government has adopted a policy of armed neutrality so as to best protect its own imperial interests when a war between Russia and Germany breaks out. "Hence the calculated ambiguities of the British government, aimed at deceiving, not Hitler, but the British electorate," he stated.
