With a new plank stating the Union's refusal to take part in a war on foreign soil, the Vassar peace platform was revised by the H.S.U. in their general meeting last night in Lowell House Common Room.
The addition to the peace proposal provided for definite action against sweeping the United States into a foreign war, and although Robert E. Lane '38 supported the plank as a new first point of the platform, it was relegated to second position.
This addition followed the reading of the results of the referendum, which was made by mail. Supporting the first point of the Vassar platform, with a close vote of 109 to 90, the Union showed its support of collective action in naming the aggressor in a war and in acting accordingly with sanctions.
In the case of point four, the vote of the last general meeting was reversed, so that the H.S.U. stood in favor of having all troops withdrawn from abroad.
