To the Editor of the Crimson:
Speaking for the baseball squad in regard to the Crimson's editorial of last Monday, we believe that we are especially privileged to have a man of Fred Mitchell's character and ability as our coach. We wish to express publicly our respect and confidence in him.
We sincerely feel that the loss of Fred Mitchell would be a severe blow to Harvard baseball. Signed, Ulysses J. Lupien, Jr. '39, Captain of Baseball. S. Gray W. Thoron '38, Manager of Baseball.
(Ed. note--The Crimson's charge in Monday's editorial about internal difficulty on the baseball team concerned last year's nine only, as clearly stated. The Crimson is glad to publish the above letter as indication that this year's team will be a unit worthy of real student support.)
