IN the studio of Guerney and Pitman, overlooking the square from the corner of Boston Street and Massachusetts Avenue are made not only the forest models, but the exhibition models for Boston concerns as well.

Last week a semi-constructed forest model involving some deer and a semi-constructed model for a bank involving a swarta of armed soldiers scrambling ever a hay barricade at Bunker Bill were placed nearby. When the sculptor went out he unconsciously left some occer grazing in the field in front of the soldiers.

On returning he found a model sign neatly posted on the field saying "Open Season."

Among the posteards enclosed in the History I exam books, to be returned with the grade, was one bearing the address "Boylston Hall Library. Cambridge," and another "South Lake Trall, Palm Beach, Florida." The former was got picked with the idea of playing up Boylston Hall as an ideal winter resort, but rather to offer contrast instead.

The latter card will be an interesting test of the corrector's ability to judge impartially. It may be that on receipt of his post card, with another added for good measure from University Hall, the southern vacationer will find himself free to continue studying history for the rest of the year in Palm Beach.

An American student who did not speak German would not be liable to take a course in German literature at a German University, but a German student did that here several years ago. He spoke no English, took a course in English and was coached by his classmates. He showed great interest and desired to express it to the professor, so he went to his well-wishing classmates for some coaching on what to say to him.

The next time he met him in the Yard, he bowed, smiled profusely, and set about reeling off his memorized speech, involving the utmost profanity regarding the professor, his course, his ancestry, Harvard and the world in general. "I compliment you on your enterprise in picking up so many English idioms outside of your regular work," replied the professor, and the student left thinking what a good impression he had made.

A section man hissing his students is like a man biting a dog, but due to the insistence of one of his students the simile must read "rat bites underdog." An Economics A instructor marched into class during the reading period just bubbling over with high spirits and ideas. One idea was an hour exam and it did not go over so well with the class. In fact without any time out for deliberation they hissed him and his idea. But he hissed right back perhaps a less resounding hiss, but a much more cultured one, and the exam was held.
