APTED SWAMPED WITH CALLS AS PUBLIC CLAMORS FOR CAT

Recent developments in the kitten situation indicate widespread public interest in the fate of the tiny feline received as a Valentine by Harold Thurston '40.

Thurston has, to date, received two letters, one of which is from Chicago, asking for the custody of the kitten. The Chicago correspondent has written that her daughter has already selected a name for the animal.

Colonel Apted, though, has been favored by more attention. He has eight letters, asking him for the supposedly unwanted kitten, and his secretary is already showing definite signs of wear from answering "innumerable" phone calls.

A prominent retired Yard cop last night expressed his disgust with the whole affair, especially the neophyte, and said there was never any cat like good old Sarah, whereabouts unknown.
