Two shutouts featured yesterday's play in the indoor baseball competition at Briggs Cage. Kirkland beat Dunster 2-0 in the first game, while Adams swamped Leverett 17-0 in the second contest.
The Deacons collected four hits off the offerings of Roger Kinnecut, Funster hurler, while their own hurler, Bernie Marks, was holdings Dunster to two blows both of the Kirkland runs were scored in the sixth inning.
The Gold Coasters got ten hits in their impressive victory. Bill Whitman, Iry Lewis, and George Akerson each collected two hits for the winners, Whitman, who also pitched, held the Bunnies to two bingles.
Adams scored five runs in the first inning, seven in the second, and five in the fifth. Bob Binkerd caught for the Gold Coasters. Dick Cleaves and Jim Monkman pitched for Leverett while Jim Langian was behind the plate.
