Gold Coasters Defeated by Funsters in House Debating

Dunster Wins As Dean Sperry Defines Types Of Beligious

In an Adams-Dunster debate last night on the latter's home ground, Dean Sperry declared that there are two fundamental types of religious groups: the prophetic, these who believe in the reality of time, and the mystic, those who look to the eternal life beyond time.

The prophetic type, or social gespel, Dean Sperry sees, embraces Judaism and early Christianity; the mystic type, or personal religion, includes Greek and Hindu beliefs. These two strands of philosophic thought have become mingled in "modern" Christianity.

Dunster House, represented by Frank X. White '41 and Dan R. Crusius '41, successfully upheld the social gospel against the Adams team of Bernard J. McMahon '41 and John F. Ambrose '41.
