The third Dodatmor has a disconcerting habit of resting upside down on the surface of the water. This little trick has already caused him to be thrown out for dead several times. Made sullen by such treatment, Number Three now refuses or show any signs of life at all, just floating there all day, thinking and thinking with his big brain.
