COOLIDGE, Shepley, Bulfinch and Abbott, the firm of architects who designed the Houses here, are now perpetrating the erection of the ultra-modernistic steel and glass edifice about a mile down the Charles, which is to be occupied by the "B.B. Chemical Co."

A nervous looking person ventured into the Yenching Institute Friday and approached the least busy of the Oriental occupants he could find.
"I wonder if you would do me a great favor?" he said.
"What is it?"
"Could you translate this for me," and he unfolded a piece of light blue stationery covered in parts with beautiful feminine script and in others with a design of Chinese characters. He apparently expected to have it unfold into an emotional outburst of affection or something which the girl was too embarrassed to send in simple English, judging from the way he fiddled with his bat.
The sage scanned the sheet, chucked, proceeded to exclamations of surprise, and replied, "So sorry, unfortunately I do not think I can tell you what that means."

Books must be returned to the library by 9 o'clock at Vassar, but there is group of enterprising young things have gone into the business of returning books for a penny apiece. They have a box in the hall of each dormitory where you dump the book and leave a penny in the slot, then they wheel a cart around and pick up the boxes and take them to the library.
