With the discovery that uncut fruit is served in all House dining halls without restriction or checkup of any kind, a wave of protest from Freshmen arose because of the Union policy of cutting and limiting the supply of oranges and apples.
In the last week an archaic Union regulation, that no oranges or apples can be given out uncut, has been enforced for the first time this year, to the detriment of the Yardlings' midnight snacks and orange fights. Sharp contrast to this is seen in the House dining halls, where oranges, apples, bananas, and even grapefruit are doled out gratis and uncut.
The only explanation the Union could offer last night was that "when a boy starts putting uncut fruit in his pockets, he's full."
