A bronze plaque in memory of the late Henry Pennypacker '38, former chairman of the Committee on Admissions and previously Headmaster of the Boston Latin School will be unveiled in the Union this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock.
Thomas H. Bilodeau '37, Freshman president of his Class, will present the plaque to President Conant on behalf of the Class of 1937, the last to enter under Mr. Pennypacker, and of his friends. William J. Bingham '16, director of Physical Education, will preside at the exercises, and the tablet will be unveiled by Mr. Pennypacker's granddaughter, Nancy Pennypacker.
President Lowell, who will speak briefly at the ceremonies, is the author of the following inscription, above which is a bas-relief bust of Mr. Pennypacker:
"1866 Henry Pennypacker 1933 1910 Headmaster Boston Latin School 1920 Chairman Committee on Admissions 1920 Harvard College 1933 Wise and Strong Friend and Lover of Youth"
The plaque is the work of Evelyn B. Longman (Mrs. N. Horton Batchelder), of Windsor, Connecticut.
