ATHLETICS AND HOUSES TO BE INVESTIGATED

FRESHMAN ELECTIONS AFFECTED BY NEW REFORMS

Student Council measures adopted Wednesday night and announced yesterday provide for committee investigations of undergraduate representation in Harvard athletics, of House admittance practices, and for a reform in the Freshman electoral rules.

Vernon H. Struck '38 heads the body to examine the representation system, while Francis Keppel '33 has charge of that on the Houses.

Of particular interest to the former committee is the question of whether non-team students should be entitled to a voice in the Committee on the Regulation of Athletic Sports, and whether the present undergraduate sports councils are fulfilling satisfactory functions.

The second body seeks to discover whether undue discrimination is being wielded against Juniors and Seniors applying for House admittance in favor of Sophomores.

Non-publication of primary results before the final election of Freshman officers and for a decrease in the number of candidates requisite to an election is planned.
