For fifteen minutes, from 11:15 until 11:30 last night, the Hasty Pudding Club broadcast song hits and skits from the dining room of the clubhouse over a nation-wide hook-up. And it was more than just a coast-to-coast affair, for the family of Benjamin F. Dillingham '39 was enjoying the reception in Honolulu.
Telephoned after the broadcast, the N.B.C. expressed themselves as "delighted" and that "it was a most gratifying experience" for them to put the show on. Highlights of the preview of the 1937 show were the singing of "There's No Wolf Around My Door" by Gaspar G. Bacon, Jr. '37, and "The Heart of a Fool" and "Someday" by Laurence L. Davis '38.
The program was rehearsed for two hours during the evening right up until time to go on the air.
Only unexpected happening of the program was the fact that John M. Graham '38, in sending regards to his "Brooklyn friends, Hyman and Dolores," added the name of Pudding piano player "Zimmy."
