"Is the instability of modern civilization due to science?" In considering this profoundly urgent question in a lecture yesterday afternoon at Hunt Hall, J. G. Crowther of the London Manchester Guardian stated that modern science has created the means by which humanity can make for itself astonishing comforts and happiness, but that it has also created the means by which humanity may destroy itself with "maximum efficiency."
