Splurging out with eight goals in the final session, the Crimson sextet shellacked the Dartmouth hockey team 14-4 Saturday night, before a capacity Carnival crowd of 4000 in the Memorial Rink at Hanover, for its 16th straight victory. Johnny Mechem led the Crimson scoring with three tallies.
Hardly had the opening whistle blown when Austie Harding converted a pass from Captain George Ford to start the scoring. For the rest of this period and most of the middle session Dartmouth displayed a brand of hockey reminiscent of their earlier encounter with the Crimson, when the Harvard skaters barley won, 2-0.
Two For Costello
This drive netted four goals, one in the first and three in the second, with Costello driving home two and Mather and Walsh scoring one each.
It was in the third period, however, that the Stubbsmen demonstrated that all the bouquets tossed to them this season have been deserved, when they smothered the Indian net-minder, Goding, under a barrage of shots resulting in eight markers for the visitors.
