In its last home appearance before the crucial meet with Yale March 13, the undefeated Varsity swimming team will go after its tenth straight win when it meets the University of Pennsylvania at the Indoor Athletic Building tonight.
Penn Captain Gene Gisburne will give Charlie Hutter and Don Barker plenty of trouble in the 50 and 100-yard sprints. Undefeated in six meets this year, Gisburne has swum the 50 in 23.6, the 100
in 53.8. Another feature event will be the dive, with Crimson ace Russell Greenhood facing Robert Helme of the Pennsylvania school. Diver Helme has been defeated only once this year and will be a hard nut for the Harvard man to crack.
In addition to these two stars, the Quakers have a sensational sophomore distance man in Rual del Valle of Cuba, who is scheduled to give Dario Berizzi a tough fight in the 440-yard free style swim. However, the Penn team is weak in breast and backstroke, so Crimson record-breakers Jameson and Cummin should come through without much trouble in those events.
Coach Hal Ulen expects to find his swimmers at the top of their form in this meet, figures that Pennsylvania will be Crimson victim number ten.
