PURSE-SNATCHER GETS HIS PURSE BY THROWING BRICKS

At precisely 7:45 o'clock last evening an unidentified marauder threw four bricks wrapped in an oil-soaked rag through a side window of a house at 22 Plympton Street, and removed therefrom a lady's pocketbook containing $20 in checks and $10 in cash.

Three self-styled "defenseless women" were in the house at the time, chaperoning a little girl, about six years old, who indignantly denied perpetrating the crime. Police advanced the theory that the criminal was the type accustomed to lurking around open windows, taking what ever booty he could get.

Although the mistress of the house commented with suspicion on the fact that the bricks came from the CRIMSON'S back yard, and that the rag was stained with printers' ink, a through checkup in this vicinity proved that such suspicions were both unfounded and unneighborly.
