CARROLL CUP REGATTA COMMENCES NEXT WEEK

Tomorrow Set as Last Day for Entries With 70 Already Signed Up, 30 More Expected

Annual competition in the spring singles regatta will start on Monday, May 18 and continue for the rest of the week. The Carroll Cup races will be rowed off on Saturday, May 23. Entries will definitely close tomorrow.

An innovation in giving individual winners of each event medals with replicas on them according to the event--that is, broads and narrows with a plate bearing an inscription of the award is being introduced.

The Carroll Cup race will be the last event on Saturday. This race has been won three times in a row by George C. Scott G.E.S. who will return for his fourth attempt this spring.

There will be two new events this year, a 155-pound class and a junior event in the narrows.

Thomas S. Burgin, mayor of Quincy, is expected to be guest of honor; Paul C. Reardon '32, who graduated from the Law School last year, will be referee, and Major Stanley of the Business School will act as time keeper.
