Behind the six-hit pitching of John J. P. Campana '36 and John R. Mahoney '37, the Jayvee baseball team opened its season with a 12-3 victory over the Tufts Seconds here yesterday afternoon.
High spots for the Crimson were Campana's hurling, one legitimate hit and no passes in five innings of freezing weather, Herbert G. Regan's single and three doubles for a perfect day at bat, and Malcolm McTernen's pair of circus clutches in right field in the first frame.
The Harvard box score: Hits--off Campana 2 in 5 innings; off J. Mahoney 4 in 2 innings; off Wojy 10 in 4 innings; off McCurtin 3 in 2 innings.
