President and Mrs. Conant will head the list of sponsors of the Latin Club presentation which will be shown in Sanders Theatre tomorrow and Thursday evenings. In the afternoon a performance for school groups will be given and the public performance will be shown the following two evenings.
According to the directors of the play, this will be the first time since the days of ancient Rome that this Plautian farce will be staged in the original manner with the actors wearing the masks and robes similar to those used by the players in the second century B. C.
Nero Sings Again
A special orchestra score for the production which will attempt to capture the atmosphere of the Roman triumph is being composed by Elliott C. Carter '30 of New York. The Composer is using the themes of modern Italian folk music which are believed to have descended from the music of the old Greek festivals at which the emperor Nero used to sing.
The masks and costumes are being made by the students of the Yesper George School of Dramatic Art.
