TEN FACULTY MEMBERS GIVEN RESEARCH AIDS

7 Economics Men Will Write Papers on Various Subject--2 Gov., Sociology Men Named

Ten Harvard faculty members have been granted research aid by the Harvard Committee on Research in the Social Sciences from a Rockefeller Foundation gift of $200,000 for research during the next five years. Those in Economics and their topics follow:

John B. Crane, "History of the Aviation Industry;" Seymour E. Harris '20, "Process of Inflation;" Wassily W. Leontief, "Interrelation of American Industries in 1919;" Robert A. Gordon, "Enterprise and Profits in the Modern Corporation;" Abbott P. Usher '04, "Early History or Deposit Banking. 1200-1700;" Eugene E. Oakes, "Liquidity of Large Estates in Massachusetts;" Edger M. Roover, Jr. '28, "Economics of Location;"

In Government: Arthur N. Holcombe '06 and E. Pendleton Herring, "Qualifications of Federal Commissioners." In Sociology: Robert K. Merton. "Interrelations of Science, Technology, and Society in 17th Century England."
