Mitchell Cuts Baseball Nine to 33 Men After First Week

Robert Stuart '38 Reports; May Press Gibbs in Outfield

After its first complete week of practice Coach Fred Mitchell's Varsity baseball squad underwent its first cut yesterday and settles down on Monday with the total number of 33.

Leading candidate of those who have reported recently is Robert C. Stuart, far-ranging center fielder and .300 hitter of last year's Freshmen. In some quarters he is thought to have a good fight to beat out the veteran Braman Gibbs.
