Fighting off a last period scoring attack, the Yardling basketball team defeated a strong Northeastern quintet 31-28 in a practice game yesterday afternoon. The Crimson took the lead early in the first period and succeeded in holding their advantage throughout the game.
Smith, shifty Northeastern center, took the scoring honors for the afternoon, netting 14 points. Captain Lupien of Harvard also played a good game, constantly getting the ball off the backboard, while Dick Grondahl paced the team in scoring, totaling nine points on well placed long shots.
