George E. Roosevelt '09 will speak in the Lowell House Common Room this evening at 8 o'clock. He has chosen as his subject. "Progress in Navigation."
Mr. Roosevelt will be the guest of the Mathematical Club, of which he was an officer while an undergraduate. He has had many interesting experiences as an amateur navigator and has entered his yawl, "Mistress," in several Bermuda races as well as the ocean race to Bergen, Norway, last summer.
Lowell House Questionnaire
Endeavoring to find out just how the House members occupy themselves during the summer months, the questionnaire asks: "Did you have a job last summer? If so, what was it? If not, did you travel, loaf, or go to summer school? If you had a job, did it have any connection with your future work?"
Although the final returns will not be known for some time, the early indications are that fewer than ten per cent of those answering spent their vacation in summer school, while more than fifteen per cent engaged in work which would be of aid in their future vocation.
