F. I. Shaffner, Instructor in Economics and Tutor in the Division of History, Government and Economics, has published his study of the collapse of investments and the curious shift of investors' opinions under which the most popular and respected securities suffered the most. He has analyzed conditions now influencing the security markets and brought to attention the effects of recent legislation on investment.
For both the large and small investor this study should serve as a valuable bandbok. Mr. Shaffner clarifies the present market situation and realizes an attempt to warn today's investor of the pitfalls which confront him. His recommendations form a minor part of the book, the greater portion being taken up with a critical analysis of prevailing corporate practises and investment theories, but they seem substantially accurate and well-founded.
The volume is logically and cleverly written, not difficult to understand.
