Admiral Walter R. Gherardi of the United States Navy was the guest of honor at the Winthrop House weekly dinner last night. During his talk following the dinner, he spoke on his work in hydrography, the science of describing and mapping the waters of the earth's surface.
Admiral Gherardi, at present Commandant of the Charlestown Navy Yard, served as naval attache at Berlin at the beginning of the World War.
