Led by William T. Glendinning '38, who threw his heavy weight opponent in 20 seconds, the Varsity wrestling team opened its season by swamping the Tech grapplers 34-0.
Thomas E. Ross '38 at 118 pounds, Edward J. Petrenik '37 at 125 pounds. Richard Lindenfelser '38 at 135 pounds, William B. Cavin, Jr. '37 at 145 pounds. William A. Gosline '38, Lorrin E. Woodman '37, and David S. Glueek '38 at 155 pounds were all victorious in their bouts.
The Yardling grapplers defeated the Tech Freshmen 33-6, Graham B. Blaine, Jr.; Hamilton Daughaday, Jr.; William T. Hull; Howard T. Lewis; Arthur W. Page, Jr.; and George A. Richter, Jr, all won their matches.
William Stone of Tech won the only victory for his team by throwing James H. Grover in one minute and seven see ends. The freshman heavy weight event was called off.
