PIERIAN ACCEPTS 37 CANDIDATES IN INITIAL TRY -OUTS

Two Oboe, Four Viola Players Report; All New Man Accepted on Condition Work Continues Good

Thirty men have been provisionally accepted in the tryouts just completed by the Pierian Sodality of 1818. Flute players led the list of candidates with many more men than could be accepted but the orchestra considered itself lucky in having four candidates for the viola and two for the oboe.
