A means of humorous relief during the compilation of this book invariably came when certain brain-twitching cases among the Commuters were called up as a last resort in checking.
"We wanted to check your number for the College 'Phone Book," said the checker. "O. K., said the chockee "just a second. It's or-or (telephone number)." That was invariably the answer.
