An international debate with Cambridge University over the Red network of the National Broadcasting system has been planned by the debating council for Saturday, November 7, the anniversary of the Tercentenary according to the Julian Calendar.
The question will be "Resolved: That national economic problems can be solved without international co-operation."
November 7 is the actual Tercentenary Day, according to the members of the Council. On October 28, 1636 the General Court voted the money for the University. To ascertain the date of this act according to the reformed Gregorian Calendar, it is necessary to add ten days.
The Tercentenary celebration was held in September, presumably to avoid conflict with the national election and the academic work of the college.
