LOCAL MIL. SCI. SHOWS NATIONWIDE INCREASE

Kessler, Brigham, and Glendinning in Command of Harvard Battalion, as Enrollment Ups 10 Per Cent

With an enrollment to date of 226 as compared to 204 at this time last year, the Military Science Department reflects a general nationwide increase for R.O.T.C. units. At least 25 new applications have been received by the government for army stations.

Charles W. Kessler '37, major, heads Harvard's field artillery battalion, as commander, seconded by F. Gorham Brigham '37, Captain and adjutant, and William T. Glendinning '38, sergeant-major.

Senior officers number battery captains James J. Gaffney, Jr. '37, Edward T. Gignoux '37, Francis A. Wendell '37, and Robert A. Williams '37. First lieutenants are; Henry M. Adlis '37, Mark H. Dall '37, Clifton F. Kann '37, Paul Killiam, Jr. '37, Robert M. Parker, Jr. '37, William F. Renner '37, Richard M. Walsh, Jr. '37, and Malcolm S. Watts '37.

Naval Science Figures

Though officers in the Naval Science unit will not be appointed until December, total enrollment figures as released Saturday list 200 students. The Holyoke Street office has rejected many candidates because of stiffer physical requirements this year and also because a neighborhood of 200 is set by law.
