Widener's Reading Room, these days before examinations, is taxed to its full capacity with students. The tangle becomes almost insoluble when coats are distributed strategically in the narrow paths between the tables.
In the Coolidge Era, the coat room at the left of the front entrance received the apparel of the scholars but the attendant was removed a few years ago as an economy measure and few persons are trustful enough to use the unguarded room. We sympathize with the effort to save money but urge that the attendant be restored during Reading and Examination Periods.
