Puritans Defeat Anglers to Gain Top Place in League

In the feature game of the season, Winthrop and Brooks House, both heretofore undefeated, met in a stubborn battle which Winthrop won by the margin of a single run. This win places Winthrop in sole possession of top place in the league and gains the championship for the House.

Winthrop House went into the sixth inning with a lead of four runs, and the total was added to by Berry's home run, which proved to be the margin of victory when Brooks House rang up four runs in their half of the seventh. Letarte's throw from third base, however, cut short the rally and ended the game.

At the same time Winthrop was beating Lowell in tennis while the Lowell greensmen nosed out Dunster on the links.
