Someone in Cambridge must have been feeling mighty flippant last Sunday night, for the CRIMSON carried the following on Monday morning:
WANT TO BE A CREW MAN? PRINCETON WELCOMES YOU
"Did you ever stop to consider that you, too, are a possible selection for the Princeton Crew? Some go up and some go down, here today and gone tomorrow, seems to be the motto of the Tiger coach. For, would you believe it, Princeton has no varsity crew.
"They had a big race down in New Jersey and the boat that won was the Princeton Crew. The "Varsity" were figuratively "bumped" by the "Jayvees," thus the former became the latter and the latter became the former, with a third boat hovering in the van as a dark horse. It's all very simple. Anyone who wishes to become a member of the Princeton Crew should communicate with the proper authorities. Do not be discouraged. Origin, prep school, former experience, are of no more importance than the size of your underwear."
The CRIMSON is making it very tough for its own varsity shell because this so-called hit-or-miss Tiger boat will very probably give it quite a trimming on Saturday. The sons of John Harvard should really cooperate better than that. --Princetonian.
