Oakland, Cal., March 13--A Douglas mystery ship, now under-going tests which may stamp it the first self-flying plane in the world, will take off from Oakland Airport at midnight today for Honolulu, it was learned from unimpeachable sources tonight.
The plane made one three-hour flight yesterday, starting at 4:56 a.m. It soared 170 miles out over the Pacific through fog banks, contacting ships to establish its course. Then, with its windows blackened to give complete "blind flying" conditions, it took off at 1:45 p.m. for another seaward flight, returning at 6:15 p.m.
