DIZZY TAKES IT

Bradenton, Fla., March 12 -- The world champion St. Louis Cardinals took a 9 to 6 decision from the Philadelphia Phillies here today, but the Phils had the satisfaction of knocking Jerome "Dizzy" Dean out of the box in the fourth inning.

Dean escaped unscathed for two innings, coasting behind a six-run attack which the Cards put on in the first inning, but in the third, the Phillies scored three runs and drove him to the showers with another onslaught in the fourth. Harrell and Ward finished up.

Philadelphia outhit the Cards, making ten safeties, while Bowman, E. Moore, and Sylvester Johnson gave up only eight.
