To the Editor of the CRIMSON:
While reading your recent news article in regard to Mr. Casey's appointment to coach the Redskins the writer was quite surprised at your estimate of the salary involved.
The general opinion of well informed sources is that Mr. Marshall is paying his new coach $10,000 per year not $5000 or $6000--the amounts mentioned in the CRIMSON.
The writer is related to one of the prominent men in professional football and feels quite certain in saying that Bill Cunningham of the Boston Post is probably better informed on Redskin affairs than any other Boston reporter. He is very close to both Marshall and Casey. According to Cunningham the new coach is receiving around $10,000 plus a percentage arrangement. As the former Dartmouth man succinctly puts it, Casey has a salary guarantee better than most of the college coaches and a chance to make $25,000 if the Redskins by any chance win the Eastern Championship."
My only interest in this matter is in relating these facts for Mr. Casey's many friends at Harvard. For the compensation he is to receive is a tribute to Eddie Casey's ability as a coach. Henry Davis.
