Lowell led the House racquetmen yesterday by swamping Winthrop 5-0 in League C, and 4-1 in League A. Eliot also won a victory in League A, defeating Dunster, 5-0. Wielding handy racquets, the Gold Coasters easily defeated the League C Leverett squad, 4-1, but just eked out a 3-2 margin to down a fighting team from the Rabbits in League A.
Using the official method of scoring--by individual matches instead of by games--the Elephants still lead the field by a margin of six points. Heading Adams by a paltry two-match advantage, the Bellboys at present hold second place. But the Gold Coast racqueteers are showing unusual strength this year and bid fair to give Lowell a close run for its money.
